Russian Security Personnel in Military Gear Bursting into Back of BuildingMoscow, 15 February: The interior troops of the Russian Interior Ministry eliminated around 300 militants in the North Caucasus in 2010, Internal Troops Commander-in-Chief (Army Gen) Nikolay Rogozhkin told Russian news agency RIA Novosti on Tuesday (15 February).

"Interior troops servicemen were involved in the elimination of some 300 militants in 2010. About 500 suspected members of illegal armed groups were detained," Rogozhkin said.

In January (2011), Rogozhkin reported about 108 militants killed in the North Caucasus (presumably, in 2010), while in December 2010 Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev said that the interior troops had by then eliminated 84 militants in the North Caucasus Federal District (in 2010).
