AUSTRIA EXPERTS ON RUSSIA'S INVESTMENT ATTRACTIVENESS

VIENNA, JANUARY 19 /FROM RIA NOVOSTI'S BORISLAV PECHNIKOV/ - Austrian experts talk about Russia as a lucrative place for investment, Uve Kumm, chief of the Moscow office of the major international management consulting company Roland Berger, has told journalists.

In his opinion, Russia enjoys growing political and economic stability, which makes it lucrative for Western investment.

The Austrian economic expert said: "Russia has become a country of predictable economic developments, where investment risks are diminishing". He believes that Russia's economic stability has become tangible with the election of Vladimir Putin as president and this tendency is getting stronger.

Mr Kumm opined that there are legal frameworks in Russia for improving the country's image and boosting investments. How these frameworks are being translated into life is another thing, he noted. The embodiment of economic and legal reforms will be sped up as soon as Russia enters the World Trade Organisation, thinks the Austrian economist.

It is Uve Kumm's prognostication that in the next few years Russia will have a sustained increase in the gross domestic product of an average 4 percent at a relatively low inflation rate, not exceeding 10 percent.
