Subject: Eurasia Foundation report on Civil Society Summit in Moscow

U.S. - Russian interaction in the civil society sector has achieved a great deal over the last decade, but in recent years, as bilateral relations deteriorated, cooperation in the civil society sphere suffered. The July Civil Society Summit in Moscow was organized to recognize the efforts set forth by President Barack Obama and President Dmitri Medvedev to improve bilateral relations and to provide experts and practitioners drawn from various disciplines in both countries with the opportunity to deepen and diversify civic engagement.

The event marked a turning point in the engagement and collaboration between the citizens of Russia and the United States and the report, created by Eurasia Foundation, assesses the conference's goal of creating a new model of public-private-NGO cooperation.
