Putin's program disregards new public sentiment - analyst
Interfax - 1.12.12 - JRL 2012-8

MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - The issues raised in Vladimir Putin's pre-election program are untimely, said Contemporary Development Institute Director Igor Yurgens.

"These words would sound correct in a country of flat calm and stability. But Russia is not in such a state," Yurgens told Interfax.

Putin's draft program does not take the protest sentiment of a large segment of the public into account, he said.

"Some points on the program were proposed previously - we did that, for instance. But now one cannot disregard the masses of citizens who filled the streets after the parliamentary elections," Yurgens said.
