Mironov Ready to Join February 4 Opposition March
Interfax - 1.11.12 - JRL 2012-8

MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - Sergei Mironov, the leader of A Just Russia Party and a presidential candidate, has not ruled out joining the opposition's peaceful procession on February 4.

"I do not rule it out. I am ready to openly express my point of view on the processes taking place in the country," he told journalists on Thursday, answering a question from Interfax.

Mironov noted that he had plenty to say, although his opinion could differ from that of people attending this action.

"I have my own opinion. I think it is quite possible and necessary to let people know it. The motive prompting them to take to the streets is absolutely clear to me," he said.

The proactive position of those who attended December's rallies on Bolotnaya Square and Sakharov Avenue, as well as those planning to take part in the February 4 march is important, but the main goal should be citizens' good sentiments and the eradication of social inequality, Mironov said.

Popular anti-corruption blogger and protest organizer Alexei Navalny is not a Kremlin project, he said.

"I am convinced that he is not a project of the Kremlin or any special services. His attitude seems quite sincere to me today," he said.

Mironov, however, said that he disagreed with Navalny over some ideological issues.

"But this is the voice that should be heard and heeded today," he said.
