MOSCOW. Dec 9 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said the goals of the draft law on non-governmental organization deserve support, but the scheme for implementing them should conform with the principles of civil society.

"The objectives of the draft deserve support, but the proposed schemes for implementing them should to a greater extent conform with the functioning principles of a civil society. In this connection the norms, regulating relations between the state and non-governmental organizations, first and foremost with international and foreign organizations, need to be clarified," Putin said in a statement published by the presidential press service on Friday.

Putin sent the statement on the federal draft law, "On amending some legislative acts of the Russian Federation," to State Duma Chairman Boris Gryzlov.

The draft was adopted by the State Duma on November 23.
