Expert Says No Russian Party Supports Foreign Financing of Politics

MOSCOW. Dec 6 (Interfax) - There is not a political force in Russia that supports foreign financing of political activity, Effective Politics Foundation President Gleb Pavlovsky told a Tuesday press conference in the Interfax mail office.

"There is not a single political party in Russia - right, left, radical or centrist - that would support the idea of Russian political activity from the West. We have a complete consensus of political parties in this sphere," Pavlovsky said, in response to a question about the bill on non-governmental organizations.

The only disagreement between parties concerns "how this barrier should be organized," Pavlovsky said.

A list of regulations for registering political organizations should be created, Pavlovsky said. "I believe we should have a single legislative foundation for registering public organization and that it would not demean them in any way," he said.
