With reference to your item 9182/15: (Kommersant: Aleksey Shapovalov, The Land of Frightened Investors. The West rates Russian reforms.): can any reader of the Russian original confirm my suspicion that Shapovalov's title is an echo, perhaps via Iakov Lur'e's " V kraiu nepuganykh idiotov," (A.A. Kurdiumov. Paris : La Presse Libre, 1983) of Prishvin's "V kraiu nepuganykh ptits"? If such turns out to be the case, perhaps investers among your readership should know that bit of background.

(There may also be a transmission via Il'f & Petrov, but memory may be deceiving me.).
