18 warnings issued to Russian media
MOSCOW. Oct 6 (Interfax) - Eighteen official warnings have been issued by the Russian Federal Service for the Enforcement of Media Legislation and the Protection of Cultural Heritage to the country's nationwide media groups over the past three months, First Deputy Culture and Mass Media Minister Leonid Nadirov said.
Some of the warnings came in response to violations committed while covering terrorist attacks, he said at an expanded session of the Federation Council's information policy commission on Wednesday.
"I don't want to specifically mention these media groups, but they know about it. And we can raise the issue of recalling their licenses after a second similar warning is issued," Nadirov said.
