Only 25% of Russians Live Comfortably

SAINT PETERSBURG, July 22. 25% of Russians live comfortably. This was the result of a research project entitled Standard of living in the regions of Russia, carried out by the Social Innovation foundation. One third of respondents said the standard of living is low in their town or village. 44.4% said they live 'like everyone else, not well or badly, just normal.'

The research was carried out from December 10, 2002, to April 15, 2003. At least 200 thousand families from the Central Federal District, the Urals, Siberia, the Povolzhsk Federal District, the Far East as well as other regions in the south and west of Russia took part in the research.
