MOSCOW, 28 January, 2003. /RIA Novosti corr. Yevgeny Zainabetdinov, Pyotr Goncharov/ - Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov announced at a press conference on Tuesday that Russia's position on Iraq remained unchanged.

According to him, Russia is in favor of a political settlement of the Iraqi problem on the basis of UN resolutions. "Moscow is against unilateral actions against Iraq, including military ones," Igor Ivanov stressed.

He said that Russia was in favor of UN international inspectors continuing their work within the timeframes set by the UN Security Council.
