RULES SET TO REGULATE FOREIGNERS' ACTIVITIES IN RUSSIA

MOSCOW, JANUARY 8. /FROM A RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT/ -- The Russian government has fixed rules regulating labour activities of foreigners in Russia.

On Thursday, January 9, the daily Rossiiskaya Gazeta will carry the regulations for the issue of work permits to foreigners and stateless persons. The regulations, approved by a decision of the Russian government, have been prepared in line with the recently-adopted federal law On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation.

From now on, a foreigner may get a work permission only if he has reached 18 years of age, is registered in Russia as a private businessman, going to engage in business without juridical-person education, or has been invited as a foreign worker under labour or civil-law agreements.
