Russian country band nominated for Grammy Award

The Russian country band Beringov Proliv (Bering Strait) has been nominated for the Grammy Award, the highest musical award in the United States.

For the first time in the history of the Grammy ceremony, a Russian band was nominated for the best country song. There are also other Russian nominees for the Grammy Award, including the Mariinsky theater's symphony orchestra.

Nominations in the main categories are dominated by four American artists — Eminem, Norah Jones, Bruce Springsteen and Avril Lavigne. They were nominated for the best record, the best song and album of the year. In all, there are 104 categories this year. The awards will be presented on February 23.
