'Russian in the Workplace' class
By Steve Gibson -- Bee Staff Writer

WEST SACRAMENTO -- A nine-week class called "Russian in the Workplace" will be offered starting Jan. 21 at Sacramento City College's West Sacramento Center. It will be the second time the college has offered the class in West Sacramento. The first, during the fall semester, drew 18 students, said the center's dean, Debra J. Luff.

"Given the huge Russian-speaking population here, this is a class we will continue to offer," Luff said.

It is designed to provide basic vocabulary, phrases and everyday greetings, so employers can communicate more easily with Russian-speaking workers, she said.

The class will be from 5 to 6:50 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 21 through March 18, in the West Sacramento Center, Suite 183, 1275 Halyard Drive.

For information about registration, call (916) 375-5511.
