Internship at the National Endowment for Democracy

The National Endowment for Democracy, a congressionally-funded non-profit grantmaking organization, is seeking an intern for a paid position, working approximately 10 hours per week under the supervision of the Director for Central Europe and Eurasia. This is an excellent opportunity for an undergraduate at a DC-area university to learn about democracy promotion and the non-profit sector in the former Soviet Union at one of the leading organizations in the field. The intern's responsibilities will include: basic filing and office administrative tasks; processing Russian-language materials to be shelved in the Endowment's library; helping to maintain the Endowment's databases of contacts; and research assistance. The successful applicant will have a strong academic record; good knowledge of Russian (a knowledge of other regional languages is desirable but not required); a native-level command of English; and basic computer skills.

Remuneration will be on an hourly basis, depending on the successful applicant's qualifications. (Individuals who are ineligible for employment in the United States because of their visa status should not apply.)

To apply, please submit a cover letter, a resume (including references), a current academic transcript, and a 2-3 page writing sample to:
