Russia hopes Europe will determine culprit of gas crisis - Putin's press secretary

MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - Russia expects Europe to determine the culprit of the recent gas crisis.

"No doubt, we would prefer to hear from the European countries a very serious and strict evaluation of who was responsible for halting the gas supply," Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov told the Voice of Russia on Tuesday.

"The orange revolution has caused the situation we are now seeing in Kyiv. The so-called orange revolution was openly supported by different countries, including the U.S.," Peskov said.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin "has never hidden his disappointment, has never hidden that he cannot understand who the U.S. took such a one-sided stance and why the U.S. plays such a non-constructive role in determining the future of Ukraine," Peskov said.
