U.S. ambassador delivers lecture at Sakhalin university

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK. Nov 19 (Interfax) - During a lecture on U.S.-Russian relations delivered at Sakhalin State University, U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Beyrle said the U.S and Russia should find a common language.

Beyrle said the U.S. and Russia bear responsibility for the nuclear potential placed on their territories and said it is important that the two countries find a common language.

The diplomat spoke in detail about the new strategic weapons reduction agreement between Russia and the U.S. and the actions and mutual support in the issues involving Iran, North Korea, and the Middle East.

The ambassador gave special attention to U.S.-Russia student programs. According to Beyrle, 32,000 students from Russia visited the U.S. last summer.
