Moscow, 29 October: The Communists have come up with a new slogan for their election campaign to counter the slogan of their main opponents, One Russia, Ivan Melnikov, first deputy chairman of the CPRF (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) central committee, has announced.

"One Russia has a main slogan now, 'Putin's Plan is Russia's victory'. We have also decided to launch a new party slogan, 'The CPRF plan is the people's plan'," Melnikov told a news conference in Moscow on Monday.

He said the new slogan might yet undergo some changes; in particular, one version being considered is "The CPRF plan is the voice of the people".

Melnikov also said that the new slogan will appear in the Communists' campaign as red text on white background.
