Subject: Correction re Leon Aron
On behalf of Dr. Leon Aron, I would like to append the following correction to the Wall Street Journal article, which ran on May 15 (JRL #110, #8):
In the article, it is claimed that “Every day more than 19,000 barrels of oil flow through the pipeline for sale abroad, bringing $500 billion a year.” The $500 billion figure is an estimate of a fair market value of all oil and gas extracted in Russia annually. The 7 million barrels of oil produced daily for eventual export amount to $150 billion a year at current prices.
We have sent the correction to the WSJ, I would be grateful if you can print it in one your upcoming JRL editions.
