Researcher Russia Team (Moscow)

Amnesty International (AI) needs a researcher as part of the International Secretariat to help lead its research and campaigning work on Russia. Based at Amnesty International's Russia Resource Centre in Moscow, you will monitor, investigate and analyze political, legal and social developments and designated human rights issues, investigate and document cases and patterns of human rights abuses, and implement strategies and actions to combat human rights abuses including through developing public materials, lobbying and campaigning.

You will need proven research experience, first hand experience of the former Soviet Union region and specialist knowledge of Russia, an excellent understanding of human rights and sound political judgment.

In addition to your specialist country knowledge you will need to demonstrate an understanding of the role played in Russia by the international community, impartiality, initiative, writing skills, ability to think strategically and experience in working as part of a team. You will need to be an effective communicator, able to liaise effectively and sensitively with other organisations, build coalitions and represent AI to the government and media.

Fluent written and spoken English and Russian are essential.
