Notion 'non-systemic opposition' will soon vanish - Vorobyov
Interfax - 4.4.12 - JRL 2012-62

MOSCOW. April 4 (Interfax) - With the enactment of the law making it easier to register a political party in Russia, there will be no more representatives of the so-called "non-systemic opposition," head of the United Russia Party's faction in the State Duma Andrei Vorobyov said in an interview published in the Rossiiskaya Gazeta on Wednesday.

"You know very soon the term 'non-systemic opposition' will disappear from our country altogether. There will be those who have registered their parties and those who prefer to live not by politics but street escapades," Vorobyov said.

"The parliament is becoming a platform for multilateral discussion," with representatives of non-parliamentary parties regularly attending State Duma sessions, he said.

With many new political organizations emerging, the doors of the parliament will still be open to them, Vorobyov said. "And it will not be small-party chaos but a civilized struggle for votes, for trust," he said.

Rumors about the demise of United Russia are strongly exaggerated, the faction leader said. United Russia is about to enter a new stage of development, under completely new conditions of multipartisanship and political competition, the senior party member said.
