The meeting itself took place on 15 February.

"The most interesting thing was that at the end of our meeting, Medvedev said unambiguously that he was not about to leave politics, that he was considering putting himself forward as a presidential candidate in the future and, accordingly, that he would be delighted to meet many of the participants in this meeting in a debate at some future presidential elections," Levichev told RIA Novosti.

At a 25 January meeting with the Moscow State University's journalism students, Medvedev did not rule out that in the future he could again run for president. At just 46 years of age, he is by no means too old to entertain further political ambitions, as he put it.
