Russian Election NGO To Launch Website, Hotline, SMS Service To Report Breaches
Interfax - 1.24.12 - JRL 2012-13

Moscow, 24 January: The Golos association will launch a "2012 election violations map" website on Wednesday (25 January), where users can report breaches throughout the pre-election period and voting day.

"Reports about violations committed in the course of the presidential election campaign will be registered on the map," says the Golos press release received by the Interfax news agency on Tuesday (24 January).

The NGO said that users will generate the on-line content themselves, with project organizers only looking after initial moderation and technical support.

The new project maintains a separate focus on helping to draw up official complaints, both written and electronic. There is also the opportunity to inform site visitors about the lodgement of such complaints and the outcome of their reviews. Mobile phone applications will also be created.

Besides the website, a free hotline (8-800-33-333-50) and SMS service (8-925-00-33-33-50) will start working from 25 January. Together with the forms available via the website and through mobile phone applications, they will allow people to register reports about violations.
