Call for Book Proposals on
UKRAINIAN POLITICS AND SOCIETY

in English, German & Russian.
Deadline: 30th May 2005
(Please, feel free to forward.)

The ibidem Paperback Series "Soviet and Post-Soviet Politics & Society" (http://www.ibidem-verlag.de/r1l.html) published by ibidem Publishers Stuttgart invites scholarly book-proposals on political, social, economic and cultural issues of Ukraine within the time period 1905-2005.

Proposals for monographs and volumes of collected papers or documents in English, German or Russian within the range of approx. 40,000-75,000 words - i.e. circa 140-250 pages in the book’s final version - will be considered. (The publisher regrets to be unable to publish books in Ukrainian language.) Successfully defended doctoral dissertations may have to be extensively edited/formatted for publication. In certain cases, outstanding Master’s-theses might, after recommendation by a senior academic, be also considered.

For longer book projects within the range of 250-450 pages and for books with colored pictures as well as for the printing of German doctoral dissertations, a modest printing fee (Druckkostenzuschuss) will be charged from the author.

Authors or editors whose proposals have been accepted for publication will be asked to produce a proof-read camera-ready master-copy in electronic form for the book’s printing in accordance to detailed style-guidelines and formatting instructions from the series editor and publisher. The instructions as well as a comprehensive description of the book series can be found at http://www.ibidem-verlag.de/r1l2.html.

Authors wishing to publish not in their mother-tongue will have to secure close editorial assistance from a competent native-speaker. Please, send your abstract, draft, thesis or manuscript by electronic or postal mail until 30th May 2005 to:
