WOODROW WILSON INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR SCHOLARS--FELLOWSHIPS IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES 2005-2006

The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars is currently accepting applications for its 2005-2006 Fellowship competition. The application deadline is October 1, 2004.

The Center offers residential fellowships for the entire U.S. academic year (September through May), or for a minimum of four months during the academic year, to individuals in the social sciences and humanities who submit outstanding project proposals on a broad range of national and/or international issues. Fellows are selected through a multi-level peer review process. Proposed topics should intersect with questions of public policy or provide the historical and/or cultural framework to illumine policy issues of contemporary importance. Fellows are provided with a stipend (includes a round-trip transportation allowance), part-time research assistance, and, through the assistance of professional librarians, access to the Library of Congress. Fellows work from private offices at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC.

Eligibility: For academic applicants, eligibility is limited to the postdoctoral level and, normally, to applicants with publications beyond the Ph.D. dissertation. For other applicants, an equivalent level of professional achievement is expected. Applications from any country are welcome. All applicants should have a very good command of spoken English. The Center seeks a diverse group of Fellows and encourages applications from women and minorities.
