No date set for Putin's inauguration yet

MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - The date for Vladimir Putin's inauguration has not been determined yet, the presidential administration told Interfax on Wednesday.

In the meantime, under the federal law on the election of the president of the Russian Federation, "the president elected in accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation and this federal law is sworn into office four years following the inauguration of the president of the Russian Federation elected in the previous presidential elections."

The previous inauguration was held on May 7, 2000.

Russian Central Elections Commission chairman Alexander Veshnyakov told reporters before the March 14 presidential elections that the inauguration was tentatively scheduled for the first half of May.
