Putin prays to holy relics of Saint Andrew the First Called

MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin prayed before the holy relics of Saint Andrew the First Called in Moscow's Christ the Savior Cathedral on Monday evening.

The remains were delivered to Moscow earlier in the day.

Muscovites will be able to revere the shrine for eight days. On the morning of Thursday, June 12, the relics will be removed from the cathedral to the Moscow residence of the Saint Panteleimon Monastery, the renowned Russian abode in Afon, Greece, from which they were delivered.

The relics will be airlifted to Murmansk on Monday, June 16.

The relics have already been worshipped in St. Petersburg, Valaam, Novgorod, and Minsk.

The shrine will also be taken to Novosibirsk and Rostov-on-Don.
