Yastrzhembsky hails U.S. listing of three Chechen
terrorist groups
MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Sergei Yastrzhembsky, a Russian presidential aide, has described U.S. State Secretary Colin Powell's report about the inclusion of three groupings operating in Chechnya on a list of international terrorist organizations as a positive move.
"This is a good, long-awaited news," Yastrzhembsky told Interfax on Thursday evening."
"It's a good signal indicating that even on these delicate issues, accurate and proper decisions can be made in the interests of Russia, the U.S., and the entire anti-terrorist coalition," the presidential aide said.
In an earlier interview on the Russia TV channel on Thursday, Powell said the U.S. Department of State added three Chechen organizations to the official list of international terrorist organizations.
