Yushchenko insists on Russian fleet's withdrawal from Ukraine in 2017

KYIV. Nov 11 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has
once again reiterated that the Russian Black Sea Fleet will have to be
withdrawn from Ukraine in 2017 and that he will not bargain on this
issue.

"The Russian fleet must be withdrawn from Ukraine in May 2017,"
Yushchenko told journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday.

The Russian fleet's presence in Ukraine "seriously destabilizes"
the situation in Ukraine, he said.

Yushchenko said he has repeatedly invited the Russian leadership to
sit at the negotiating table and resolve problems related to the Black
Sea Fleet but has not heard an answer to these proposals.

Yushchenko suggested that he is disliked by the Russian leadership
because he is not going to bargain on this issue. "Yanukovych [the Party
of Regions of Ukraine leader Viktor Yanukovych] or Tymoshenko [Prime
Minister Yulia Tymoshenko] will bargain, but I won't, and this is why I
am disliked by the Russian leadership," he said.
