The Chechnya Peace Forum and the Foreign Policy Centre are delighted to invite you to a conference:
Spotlight on Russia
Wednesday 14th May
Royal United Services Institute, Whitehall, London, SW1A 2ET

Taking place only days after Dmitry Medvedev formally takes over as President of the Russia Federation, the event will focus on what is happening in Russia today.

Addressing the audience, our eminent speakers will include:

Boris Nemtsov – Former Deputy Prime Minister of Russia
Ed Lucas – Journalist on the Economist and Author of The New Cold War: How the Kremlin Menaces Both Russia and the West
David Clark – The Russia Foundation
Akhmed Zakaev – Prime Minister, Resistance Government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria
Tony Wood – Assistant Editor at the New Left Review and Author of Chechnya: The Case for Independence
Andrei Piontkovsky – Executive Director, Center for Strategic Research in Moscow
Peter Tatchell – Human Rights Campaigner
Nina Khrushcheva – Writer and great-granddaughter of former Soviet Premier, Nikita Khrushchev
Natalia Novozhilova – Journalist

The event will start at 9.30am and conclude shortly after 3.30pm. A buffet lunch will be provided. Please see below for a brief outline of proceedings. We will issue the confirmed programme ahead of the conference.
