Russian communist leader slams police, disapproves of rally participants
RIA Novosti

Moscow, 16 April: Leader of the Communist Party of Russian Federation [CPRF] Gennadiy Zyuganov has described the actions by OMON [special purpose police] during Dissenters' March in Moscow and St Petersburg on 14-15 April as inadequate and urged the prosecutor's office to intervene. At the same time he said that he disapproved of the participants in the protests.

"As for police, their actions were totally inadequate. Nothing can be solved in this manner. The prosecutor's office must look into it and the authorities must observe the Constitution," Zyuganov told journalists today.

He voiced his regret over the fact that "young people who want to express their disagreement respond to the calls by our Orange".

'We do not need the orange plaque, like they have in Ukraine," Zyuganov said. [Passage omitted to end, earlier reported facts].
