Yabloko To Nominate Yavlinsky For Presidency - A Party Leader

UFA. Nov 10 (Interfax) - The Yabloko party will nominate Grigory Yavlinsky for the Russian presidential election, the party's deputy chairman and Moscow City Duma member Sergei Mitrokhin said.

"The congress of our party will take place in December. An official decision will be made then. Now we have made a general decision to nominate Yavlinsky for the presidency," Mitrokhin told journalists after a meeting with Yabloko electorate in Ufa on Saturday.

"As of now, the main goal of the party is to achieve good results" at the State Duma elections, Mitrokhin said.

The Yabloko party will clear the 7%-threshold at the Duma elections, Mitrokhin said.

The party leader also said that it is very difficult for the party to rent a hall for meetings with supporters in Russian regions. "It was a pleasant surprise for me that the Ufa meeting was without any complications, and the hall was provided," Mitrokhin said.
