Putin Won't Actively Campaign For United Russia - Analyst
MOSCOW. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will not take active part in United Russia's election campaign, Efficient Politics Foundation head Gleb Pavlovsky has said.
"His active participation in the campaign is impossible. This would create a legislative problem because president is not supposed to use his powers during the election race. I think Putin, as an individual, has finished his participation in the State Duma election campaign," Pavlovsky told Interfax on Tuesday.
The president does not have to do anything to promote United Russia during the elections because "the combination of his name on the party ticket and the existence of 'Putin's Plan' does not require his participation in the election campaign, but it does require that the party explain the essence of this plan more actively," Pavlovsky said.
