Communists Intend To Question Zubkov In Duma Before Casting Their Votes

MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - The Communist party faction in the State Duma will not support Viktor Zubkov's nomination for prime minister if he plans to maintain the political course pursued by the Fradkov government, Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov said.

"We'll ask Zubkov a number of concrete questions tomorrow about his stance with respect to the country's current socioeconomic course and about whether he will follow this ineffective course or has his own course to offer," Zyuganov told the press on Wednesday.

Also, it would be important to find out whom he sees in the ministerial chairs, Zyuganov said.

"If it is the same old team - Kudrin, Gref, Zurabov and others, nothing will change, and we'll not support this government in the same way we did not support the government led by Fradkov," the Communist Party leader said.

Zyuganov said, "only a center-left course, which was pursued by the Primakov - Maslyukov government and which is now being proposed by the Communist party, can lead the country out of the crisis."

"If he (Zubkov) cannot change anything we'll vote against," Zyuganov said.
