Tax Authorities Favor More Sources Of Data On Citizens' Income

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - The Federal Tax Service has proposed expanding the range of sources that can submit information on the population's incomes to the tax authorities, a Finance Ministry source told Interfax.

These initiatives include ordering organizations that pay cash prizes to private individuals to transfer data on such payments to tax bodies, he said.

The tax authorities also would like to receive information on sales of movable property, the source said.

"The idea is that such organizations will not be fiscal agents (they will not levy taxes during such payments), but they will simply provide information," he said.

Today tax authorities do not have access to information on sales of transport means, the source said. "The State Traffic Inspectorate does not report such deals. It only informs (the tax authorities) of cars' registration," he said.

The Finance Ministry supports these proposals, the source said, adding that they have been forwarded to the government as a report outlining ways to improve tax collection.

A larger number of control measures is also expected to help increase tax collection, including the collection of taxes levied on salaries, he said.
